Derek J Morin, Office Experience Manager
Derek has always pursued a career in which he could help people. Early on, he was a Program Manager for mental health programs in Massachusetts and Florida. He advocated for his clients in court, worked with Social Workers to put together life skills plans and ran the business end of the program. There were many hours put in to help people that could not help themselves. After 10 years and a move to Maine Derek decided it was time for a change. In 2006 he started work at Lincoln County Healthcare as an Admissions Specialist and worked his way up to Manager of Patient Access, Emergency Room Registration and Admissions. Over the 7 plus years he was with the hospital he learned a lot about insurance and all of its challenges with billing and getting paid. While it was different, the job of helping people get the care they needed and deserved was the same. In July of 2014 Derek joined the Gray Physical therapy team. Derek loves working with all of the great patients and with the team.
Derek is from Salem, MA (do not ask him about witches but he did grow up next door to the House of Seven Gables). He is an avid bike rider. He loves caring for his bikes (and his wife’s bike) and is constantly looking for and finding new projects to “upgrade” the bikes! Derek is married to Alison and they have three Chihuahuas; Petey (14), Paco (10) and Si (2). Alison and Derek have been married for 17 years and they live with their tiny dogs in a tiny house in Bath. Oh and he really, really likes Godzilla.
